Any Fitness Events Out There and Cutting Things Out

Well, 2014 seems to be going well so far. I am moving along. I am doing many fitness classes at my local gym and I am going back to writing my points and tracking them. So hopefully everything is back to normal from the holiday season. I am sort of bored lately though. I need some type of fitness thing to look forward to. The Color Run does not seem to come in our direction yet and Sweat USA has no information yet. Does anyone have any ideas or know any cool events that are coming this way that is about health and fitness? Let me know please. I love trying new things. I looked at my Weight Loss Bucket list but everything I listed seems to be more summer time. Please let me know if there is anything out there! =)

I am proud of my boyfriend because he has lost almost 30 lbs. He has been complaining that he needs to cut beer/drinking from his diet. I want to encourage this but he does not have to fully cut it out. I think it would be interesting if I could cut something out and we join a pact with each other. Example is I cut chocolate or sweets and if I eat a sweet I have to tell Brian..and then he thinks of a punishment. I know a punishment for him if he drank beer when he should have not would be posting a baby picture of himself on Facebook. I think this would be fun.

Sorry my blog post is not very interesting. I do not have much going on right now. I am going back to my weight before the holidays slowly and I am working out more but nothing exciting is happening. Sometimes I think my Rachael Ray experience happened too early in my weight loss journey. When Bob Harper met me I lost 60 lbs. That is nothing to sneeze about, but now I have lost 80 lbs. I think I look different. I would love to work out with him. I want to show him how strong I am and what I have learned on my own. I know this will never happened though. One can dream. I can not be selfish. I already got my 5 minutes of fame.

Anyway, I will keep doing what I am doing and hopefully you guys can comment on awesome events that happen around the country with fitness. Please let me know! I love trying new things. If anyone ever needs advice please contact me. I love reading and writing back to people. I am always here to help. I know losing weight is not easy and I want people to know I am here for them.  Have a great week!

I Lost 30 lbs in 2013! What Will 2014 Bring?

Happy New Year, everyone! As I stated before, 2013 was my year. I am excited to see what 2014 has to bring. This whole year I lost 30 lbs but 80 lbs overall. That 30 lbs has truly helped me a lot! I am going to continue on doing what I have been doing because it is working.

I do not believe in New Years Revolutions because they seem to be really big picture goals. Everyone always wants to lose weight but most people have a huge expectation in their head when they starts. When they decide to lose weight they keep this big number of what they want to lose and this is why they fail. Maybe instead of saying you wish to lose twenty pounds..Say you will eat healthy or go to the gym three times a week. Please keep in mind that a life style change will become a huge change but I feel you should start off small. That is my advice to everyone with the NYR.

For me..I need to get back on track because the holidays was filled of food and drinking. The only thing I was doing right was working out everyday but Christmas.  So for 2014 I will get back to writing down everything I consume, track my Weight Watcher points better and stop snacking/drinking alcohol. I really need to calm down with the snacking and drinking. I feel if I get back on track with this then my body will go back to feeling how it was before the holidays.

I also would like to continue to weigh my self only once a month. Not worrying about the scale has done wonders on me because I am not stressed out about the number on that scale. My goal this year is to not worry about the weight loss but the muscle I gain. I am going to gain weight this year but I wish to sculpt my body the way I want it to be.

Finally, rather then worrying about weight loss or muscle gain I wish to try new things. I have already done this last year but I feel like trying new things keep your life fresh and exciting. I climbed a water fall in Jamaica and ran in a 5K last year. Who knows what will happen this year? I still have a bucket list with many interesting and exciting things I have no done yet. Speaking of the bucket list..I am pretty sure I can gross things off on it. Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I hope this year is a success for everyone. Make the best of it!

Couch to 5K

I have no idea why I thought The Biggest Loser was on tonight. It is on next week. Some kind of fan I am! Oh well, since I finished HW I will write a post!

I am so out of shape with running. I told myself I would sign up for more 5Ks but I never did. Now when I try to run I am so out of shape if is silly! Since I need to keep my mind busy with other things then worry about my scale I thought I would train for a 5K. The 5K I was thinking of doing would be the Ugly Sweater one I talked about before in the past. That is not until December..So I have plenty of time to train! I even found this cool thing…

I found this Couch to 5K to be very helpful! I am the kind of person that needs a plan. I find that if I just try to do something without a plan it never works out. So I am going to train for a 5K! Hopefully this works out for me. I know I commute a lot to grad school so I may have to tweak the chart to find my schedule.
Now I am going to train..I wish I had someone to do the 5K with me! Oh well..I am going to get my ugly sweater ready.

They Have a 5K for Everything: The Ugly Sweater 5K.

They really do have a 5K  for everything.  If you feel like running a normal 5K then go to the local city and run that 5K. If you want people to throw color at you or run in the dark with glow sticks then be my guest! I did The Color Run back in July with my family. It was a lot of fun and it was a quirky way to move your body. Most kids or adults..would run a normal 5K but if color is being thrown at you then it just makes it fun!

Then I came across this 5K on a Groupon..It is called The Ugly Sweater 5K. I had to chuckle out loud to this because it is so funny the 5K’s they come up with. The silly thing is I really want to do it! It is happening December 7th in Philadelphia. I think it sounds fun. The charity seems to be for Toys For Tots and it is a great way to kick off the Christmas spirit. Who does not want to wear a ugly Christmas sweater and go for a run? Never mind..Do not answer that. Anyway, I think I am going to do it. Not 100% yet. I need to train for it. I am so out of shape with my running that I am rusty on my skills. I do have a long time to train for this and it is perfect. I will need to go to Good Will and get my sweater!

Well…

Everything seems to be up and working. It took me most of the day to get this blog set up. I am not 100% of course but it is good enough to have something up and running. I will add new things here and there when I think of something. I think what I have no is great though. If anyone has any suggestions let me know! I hope this blog is successful and I hope it is not like tumblr. I love tumblr and I started there but I feel like all I do on there is reblog things. The things I post from the heart is never looked at. I hope that this blog is not like tumblr. Do not worry! I will still be on tumblr because I am addicted to it.

So..August is going to be my bitch until I go away with Brian to Jamaica. I am going to train hard and eat smart. Jamaica is not until August 25th, so I have a long way to go. Today I went to Planet Fitness which seems like forever ago. I did cardio for an hour. I am training for my next 5K which will be in October. My goal for this 5K is to run the entire time and not stop running. My first 5k was great but I would stop running here and there. This 5K in October will be me running the entire time and I would love to place in the top five. We will see though.

Well, now that I have been on the computer all day I think I will log off and enjoy the rest of my day.
